How Bank of Travelers Rest is Addressing COVID-1903/18/2020 - Community banking is rooted in looking after the best interest of the people in the communities we serve. As the situation around COVID-19 ("Coronavirus") is unprecedented, Bank of Travelers Rest has made and continues to make proactive decisions based on assuring the health and well-being of our customers and employees. We appreciate the way our staff has handled these changes and how our customers have embraced our requests with complete understanding. Effective Friday, March 20, 2020, Bank of Travelers Rest will operate its lobbies by appointment only. To schedule an appointment with a banker, to open an account, apply for a loan, access your safe deposit box or any other banking need, please call our main line at 864-834-9031. Not only are we concerned with containing any risk associated with the spreading of the Coronavirus; but also the closure of area schools has placed a hardship on our employees. By opening our lobbies by appointment, we can operate with fewer staff, giving them the ability to remain flexible in providing care for their families. In addition, we can work harder to ensure that our branches receive a more thorough cleaning. For your convenience, we remind customers that our drive-up windows are open from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Our Customer Support Center is available for account transfers, receiving loan payments, helping with disputes, and assisting with online banking. Bank of Travelers Rest ATMs offer additional service points by not only dispensing cash but also allowing you to make deposits. myBTRmoney, our mobile app, provides many of the same services you find in our branches including the ability to deposit checks by simply using the camera on your mobile device. Please continue to check your email, our website and social media channels to learn the latest on how Bank of Travelers Rest is addressing the Coronavirus situation. Again, we appreciate your understanding as we navigate through this unprecedented health concern. We believe this change in our operating procedure will be temporary. But no matter what, we remain committed to providing you with banking options that keep you connected with your money. As developments occur, you can always find our latest efforts online at bankoftravelersrest.com. 03/16/2020 - Bank of Travelers Rest is committed to the people living in the places we call home. As COVID-19, commonly called "Coronavirus," is increasingly affecting daily life, we are taking extra precautions to protect our customers, our employees and the communities we serve. We are monitoring the situation and are acting based on the latest guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as incorporating best practices suggested by our trade organizations. How Can We Help You?As the Coronavirus consumes the headlines, you may be looking for ways to limit public interactions. I wanted to remind you of our digital banking options that can help you manage your banking relationship from your home or workplace:
What About Our Employees? We continue to share information with our employees about the best ways to keep themselves and their families safe and healthy. To prevent the spread of the virus, or any sickness, we are encouraging anyone who feels sick to stay home. Bank of Travelers Rest has increased the number of sick hours given to each employee and provides flexibility for our employees when using those hours. To further reduce the risk of sickness, we have cancelled all bank-sponsored events. We are limiting employee participation at local events and conferences for the foreseeable future. What About Our Branches and Workspaces? The cleanliness of our branches and workspaces is top priority, no matter the season or threat of illness. Each branch is cleaned every evening after we close. But as the Coronavirus has become of concern, we have asked employees to clean workspaces throughout the day, paying close attention to high traffic areas such as branch lobbies, check writing stations and the teller lines. The most important thing for us is that our employees and customers feel comfortable in any Bank of Travelers Rest Branch or Office. As we take steps to ensure a cleaner, healthier environment, we have made additional decisions to reduce the potential of spreading any illness. Increased precautionary measures include:
We remind you as our customers that our branches remain open and ready to serve you. Each day, we learn something new about the Coronavirus and how it's affecting our customers, employees and communities. Be assured as developments occur, Bank of Travelers Rest will focus on the best practices recommended by the CDC while minimizing the disruption of service to you. As this evolves, you can always find our latest efforts online at bankoftravelersrest.com. For current information on COVID-19 (Coronavirus), please visit cdc.gov or at scdhec.gov.
